Job Description

DH Pace Company, Inc. aspires to hire a Sr. Operations Manager for our Tempe, AZ operation who has directly managed both office and field personnel. Will evaluate, recommend and implement new operational processes and procedures as they relate to commercial construction projects. As we continue to grow both by green field and acquisitions it is imperative that we have a strong operations leader in place to foster the level of customer service that our customers have grown accustom to experiencing with our organization.

If you have experience leading, managing and driving a profitable service organization as Assistant General Manager or General Manager, our opportunity may be appealing. This position requires someone who understands and values the aspect of “being hands-on” at all levels to ensure you have a pulse on what directly impacts the bottom-line and what recommended changes you will propose to ensure revenue goals and objectives are met and risk is minimized.

Position Overview:

  • Manage Commercial and Residential Service Department Operations; this leadership direction will directly impact and shape the business
  • Manage and improve operational processes and procedures; perform audits of time sheets, performance and compensation reviews for compliance to standards, job quoting and follow up, hiring practices, scheduling practices and staffing needs
  • Work closely with Regional Manager to establish operating and sales budgets
  • Deliver Profit Dollars and the return on sales that meets or exceeds the yearly financial budget/forecast
  • Set and review pricing, monitor contracts and strategize how to most effectively win projects and/or correct losses
  • Improve individual performance through coaching, monthly P&L and Scorecard reviews and annual performance reviews
  • Actively participate in hiring, training and developing new and newly promoted employees
  • Develop and lead effective meetings
  • Handle escalated matters concerning billing and/or customers with the objective to timely resolve all issues

 Qualifications:

  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree coupled with a minimum of five (5) years of mid to senior level operations management experience or minimum ten (10) years of senior level operations management experience directly managing personnel preferably with a Service Organization where manpower and labor costs were involved
  • Must have a passion for taking care of customers and an outstanding work ethic
  • Must have good time management skills, be organized and have the ability to multi-task
  • Possess an ability for technical applications and mechanical systems
  • Experience in conducting meetings with hourly and salaried employees
  • Experience with hiring, training, and developing employees and conducting employee performance reviews
  • Must enjoy a high level of activity in a hands-on environment where there is an emphasis on meeting deadlines and providing unmatched customer service
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License
