Job Description

Leverage your Operations leadership background in a new Operations Management position with DH Pace Company of Denver, a DH Pace Inc. Company.

Will oversee all aspects of the Commercial Service Dept (commercial doors and operators serviced (fixed/repaired) at commercial customer and/or general contractor job sites) to include: scheduling, dispatching, project management, managing a field force of service technicians while fiscally managing labor costs and budgets.

 Position Overview:

  • Will directly impact and shape the business by managing operational activities that involve Installation, such as managing the dispatching and scheduling efforts of field technicians, while ensuring labor hours are within budget and project profitability and customer satisfaction are routinely met
  • Work with Sr. Management to learn how to establish sales and operating budgets and how to efficiently manage labor costs
  • Improve individual performance of the field force you manage through coaching, scorecard reviews and yearly performance reviews.
  • Evaluate and make suggestions to improve operational processes and procedures
  • Hire, train and develop new employees and lead effective field force meetings
  • Must be proactive, comfortable communicating with customers and willing to solve problems


  • Bachelor’s degree, highly preferred with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience with supervisory / leadership experience or a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience with supervisory / leadership experience.
  • Participate in the management on-call rotation schedule
  • Effective time management skills, highly organized and a keen sense for addressing both customer and employee issues quickly with an ability to remedy problems
  • Possess an ability for technical applications and mechanical systems
  • Must be a good communicator and able to conduct meetings with hourly and salaried employees
  • Must enjoy a high level of activity in a hands-on environment where there is an emphasis on meeting deadlines and providing unmatched customer service
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License

DH Pace Company, Inc. aspires to hire an Operations Manager. Our managers run all aspects of Service (door repairs that customers request) and Installation (new doors that customers need). Managers are skilled at scheduling, dispatching, project management, managing a field force of technicians and/or installers and they are held accountable for managing labor costs.

Job Responsibilities:
Effectively manage employee performance, control labor and material costs and ensure service levels meet customer expectations
Assist with employee/job scheduling and provide assistance with technical/mechanical trouble-shooting/problem solving
Monitor technicians’ schedules to ensure timely completion of jobs and accurate customer invoicing
Manage the “on-call\u0022 process for technicians and personally handle escalated customer calls to resolve customer issues
Perform employee performance reviews, document performance issues, provide necessary employee counseling with targeted improvement action plans
Inventory management to include material and parts ordering
Interact with customers to build strong relationships
Warehouse functions to include loading and unloading building materials as necessary for daily customer jobs
Prepare bids and quotes for customers
Other duties may be assigned

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (highly preferred) OR must have a minimum of three (3) year’s management experience in a fast-paced service-focused industry
Desirable industry experience: Service (such as HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical, Equipment Rental), Transportation, Restaurant, Retail, or Uniform. 
Valid driver’s license
Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical situations essential
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, a proven track record of working in a very fast-paced environment where attention to detail is essential and possess a strong sense of urgency
Ability to professionally and effectively communicate and build strong relationships with employees and customers
Ability to quickly and efficiently solve problems and make sound decisions
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), as well as experience using a computer in a general business environment
Experience preparing estimates and bid proposals (desirable)
Prior experience managing, dispatching, and scheduling field technicians (highly desirable)
